STMC stands for the Standardized Test Methods Committee. This global committee has been formed to find and promote standardised test methods for the printer cartridge industry. The test methods are used to evaluate toner printer cartridge performance. When using standardised test methods, it is possible to evaluate a cartridge anywhere and obtain the same test results independently of who tests it.
STMC uses certain test methods from other entities such as ASTM, American Society for Testing and Materials, (ASTM F 1856 for yield - the estimated number of pages produced at 5% print coverage, and ASTM F 2036 for image density and background); ISO, International Organization for Standardization; ISTA, International Seed Testing Association and ANSI, American National Standards Institute. The test methods are used only to evaluate finished cartridges in comparison to another cartridge, typically an OEM cartridge. The test do not measure components.
Being STMC certified, TRS has proven to be highly committed to produce the absolute highest quality cartridges possible meeting or often even surpassing the OEM performance.
